Doobie Brother's 50th Anniversary Tour Rescheduled, Spokane Arena, October 1, 2021

The Doobie Brothers Announce New Album ‘Liberte’, EP And US 50th Anniversary Tour. This show was rescheduled from 2020 when everything shut down due to the pandemic.

The Doobie Brother's headlined the Spokane Memorial Arena Friday night October 1, 2021 with their 50th Anniversary Tour and reunited with Michael McDonald. This show was a bucket list concert for me as I had never had the opportunity to see them live in concert. I have been to and seen many bands and artist but somehow the Doobie Brother's slipped through the cracks.

The Doobie Brother's played all their hits you can remember and also played their new material from their new album "Liberte" that was just released the very day of the Spokane show (full set list below).

At least 28 musicians have played as a "Doobie Brother" in the band's 50-year career. The initial members were, of course, Johnston, Simmons, Hartman, and Shogren. During the 1970s, Tiran Porter, Keith Knudsen, and Jeff "Skunk" Baxter contributed to performances and producing albums. Mike Hossack, a longtime member of the band The Doobie Brothers, died of cancer at the age of 65 in March of 2012.

The Doobie Brothers have reunited with former member Michael McDonald for the band's belated 50th anniversary tour. Original members for the tour include: Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, John McFee and McDonald.

The show neared close to 3 hours with almost a 30 song setlist. The Doobie Brother's opened the show with "Nobody" then transitioned into "Take Me In Your Arms" and closed out the night with a 3 tune encore of "Black Water", Takin it to the Streets", and "Listen to the Music".

Just thought I would mention after the show was all said and done there were a few of the fans that were left hoping to get a memorandum of the show as I am referring to the setlist and I happened to be one of them. One lucky fan was walking toward me with a setlist in tow and all smiles. There were at least 4 or 5 other setlists on the stage and only 3 fans left as one asked if she could get one and was told "NO"? I really didn't see what the big deal was not to give the remaining fans a memorandum to cherish and brag about for years to come as I said before there were only 3 of us there and that would have satisfied the remaining fans they would have left quietly. Instead they were herded out of the Arena like a bunch of cattle? Some of the security at the Arena have power trips for some reason? Come on it's not a big deal I use to do the same job years ago and always wanted concert goers to have a nice memory to take home with them.

Spokane was the 14th stop on the 50th Anniversary Tour after that they headed onto Nashville, TN and on for 12 more shows. When they hit your city or somewhere near you, pick up a couple tickets if you don't already have yours and go to this must see concert and check one off your bucket list you may never have this chance again. Nothing beats a live show and after a year and half of no concerts at all we don't want to take it for granted anymore so make a memory and go to a live show. Until next time "Rock On".
