Sold Out Alter Bridge Walk The Sky Tour, The Knitting Factory Spokane, WA February 27, 2020.

Alter Bridge with Myles Kennedy released their 6th album "Walk The Sky" on October 18, 2019. The band embarked on a short European tour just after the release and ended the tour in London on December 21, 2019 with Shinedown and Sevendust.

After a short break for the holidays Alter Bridge scheduled the first leg of the US tour to support the album starting January 31, 2020 in Lake Charles, LA and ending in Myles Kennedy's hometown of Spokane, WA. The guys will take a short break before the 2nd leg of the US tour that begins May 1, 2020 in Atlanta, GA before heading back to Europe

Now for the concert at hand the last stop on the tour Spokane, Wa February 27, 2020 and ironically Myles Kennedy's hometown. This was a treat for me personally as this day of the Alter Bridge concert just so happened to land on my birthday I was to embark on a busy but great adventure as the day pressed on. I was working the show but also celebrating at the same time with a fellow Spokanite Myles Kennedy. I started the day off with Alter Bridge's sound check and I managed to meet many from my Alter Bridge and Myles Kennedy groups I belong to or manage who follow the band.

Living in the same city and even attending the same high school for a short time has been interesting to say the least. It's pretty cool that you can just happen to run into him performing on the street for Street Music Week in June or at a concert such as Steel Panther a few years ago where Myles made a guest appearance and got on stage to sing AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" with the guys. Just a little bit of trivia Michael Star from Steal Panther and Myles Kennedy both made an appearance in the 2001 movie "Rockstar" with Mark Wahlberg. Myles Kennedy has got to be one of the busiest vocalist in Rock today with Alter Bridge, and his project with Slash and the Conspirator's Featuring Myles Kennedy, not to mention his solo project, a true workaholic and I mean that in a good way.

Deepfall from Grand Rapids, MI opened the show in Spokane I had heard about their rendition of the "Journey" song they perform "Separate Ways" and I was looking forward to finally hearing it for myself. I have to say I liked the metal version of the song, I wonder what Steve Perry would say? I really enjoyed Deepfall's 30 minute set the songs were catchy and well put together I had to pick up the CD at the merch booth after the show. Members include Rich Hopkins (Vocals), Max Corrillo(Guitar), Anthony Battista (Guitar), Taylor Brandt (Bass), Nick Gray (Drums) and Tim King (Keyboards).

Next up was a band of the same name Clint Lowery Band. Most would know Clint as the lead guitarist from Sevendust. Clint Lowery is touring in support of his new album, "God Bless The Renegades" which came out the day of the first show on the tour January 31, 2020. Clint played a 45 minute set covering his new album.

Now for the main attraction Alter Bridge the energy had been building throughout the evening and fans were waiting patiently to see their local hero Myles Kennedy take the stage with the members of Alter Bridge. The Spokane show had been sold out for weeks as it always is everytime Alter Bride plays in Myles hometown. I'm thinking for future shows maybe they should be held at the Spokane Memorial Arena's "Star Theater" that's how big Alter Bridge is becoming in Spokane.

I was scanning the venue and was intrigued on how orderly all the fans were for this show, no major incidences or real unruly patrons. Everyone found their spot on the floor or balcony and were almost lined in perfect rows near the stage. Once each fan found their spot they pretty much stayed there for the entire concert. The fans were very attentive and seemed to hang on every word and lyric Myles spoke or sang. When Alter Bridge took the stage I was in the balcony to catch some shots from above the stage I had a great spot against the rail in front of the stage. Fans began to crowd towards the rail in anticipation to try and get a better view of the band. One fan wanted to get a better view so bad she offered the gal next to me $120 for her spot on the rail, now that's a true fan.

Alter Bridge opened their set with a number from the new "Walk The Sky" album "One Life" and then went into "Wouldn't You Rather" also from the new album.. More than halfway through the set before Myles sang "Watch Over You" he mentioned how the song came to be. Myles stated that he was sitting in the Manito area of Spokane and he began to play the beginning riff to the song that later turned into a huge hit on the 2007, "Blackbird" album. Alter Bridge ended their set with "Blackbird", "Open Your Eyes", and "Metalingus as they bid until next time to the crowd. But the show did not end there as the venue chanted for an encore and Alter Bridge returned to the stage to play "Godspeed" from the "Walk The Sky" album and "no Alter Bridge concert would be complete without "Addicted to Pain" from the 2013 album "Fortress". to close the show. Full set list below.

Myles Kennedy was into his 30's before starting his career with Alter Bridge. He just celebrated his 50th birthday in November and he can still hit every high note with ease he didn't miss a beat. His voice has become more polished and precise with every passing year.
