Night Ranger

CONCERT REVIEW:

Night Ranger is still Rocking America after 36 years of touring and performing and they proved that last night at Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Spokane, WA January 18, 2018. Night Ranger formed back in 1982 when they officially changed their band name from Ranger to Night Ranger after another band claimed the name.

Night Ranger (Rock in America)

The band dismembered in 1989 and the members went on to do other projects as Jack Blades joined the group The Damn Yankee's with Tommy Shaw of Styx and Ted Nugent. Night Ranger performed a couple of The Damn Yankee's songs, "High Enough", "Coming of Age" and "Rock in America". Jack Blades mentioned how high he had to sing, "High Enough as Tommy Shaw was the vocalist of the song with The Damn Yankee's and joked how Shaw must be from another planet. Blades pulled off the song without a hitch. Blades talked briefly about how long the band has been around and joked that when they formed they thought they would do it for 4 or 5 years, meet some girls and here they are still going strong from 1982 to 2018 some 36 years later still rocking America.

Although Night Ranger has been around for 36 years these guys still have so much energy on stage with Blades still running across the stage as he did in the 80's and the electrifying guitar solos pulled off by Brad Gillis who replaced Randy Rhoads temporarily for Ozzy Osbourne in the early 80's and the band also performed the song "Crazy Train", then Kerri Kelli joins in and the sound is like something from out of this world. I was blown away how good these 2 guys made the band sound, amazing. Current members include JACK BLADES: Lead Vocals / Bass I was fortunate enough to meet Jack after a show in the 80's and was hoping for a reunion but it wasn't in the cards last night. KELLY KEAGY: Drums / Lead Vocals and I have to say he is an incredible drummer and vocalist and is front and center with the drums instead of in the back. I always thought it had to take real talent to manage drums and vocals at the same time without your voice sounding shaky and Keagy pulls it off beautifully? BRAD GILLIS: Guitar / Vocals, ERIC LEVY: Keyboards, KERI KELLI: Guitar / Vocals.

Night Ranger performed all of their greatest hits "Sister Christian", Don't Tell Me You Love Me", When You Close Your Eyes", "Sentimental Street", The Secret of My Success", "Goodbye" and their theme song "Night Ranger" which Blades mentioned it had been awhile since they had performed the song live, They also performed a couple of Alice Cooper tunes and of course, The Damn Yankee's and Ozzy Ozbourne.
