If you like to camp, live rock n roll music, and hot August summer nights then the "Rock Cut Rock Festival" in Kettle Falls, WA is the place you want to be? This past weekend August 25 to 27th, 2017 was the "Rock Cut Festival" at the Rock Cut RV and Campgrounds in Kettle Falls, what a great lineup of bands scheduled to perform. This festival usually consists of blues performers for the Rock Cut Blues Festival that was held earlier in the summer but this year they decided to add a rock festival to close out the 2017 season. I remember there was supposed to be a Rock Cut Festival back in 2015 but it was canceled due to the awful wild fires that blazed through the area that year. No need to drive home after the show there was RV camping and spaces available for tents at this beautiful campground near the Canadian border. Kettle Falls is about a 2 and a half hour drive from Spokane. The campground is about 25 miles north of Kettle Falls and is a great getaway and makes for great family camping.

Most of the performing bands were tribute bands from the Seattle area. The festival started around noon on Friday afternoon and ended Saturday about midnight. The list of headlining performing acts for the 2-day festival included "Almost Human Kiss Tribute" from Seattle, "Infinity Project Journey Tribute" from Seattle, "Hysteria Def Leppard Tribute" from Kirkland, WA, "Soul Stripper AC/DC Tribute" from Tacoma, with supporting acts all original rock n roll with The "Nixon Rodeo" from Spokane, WA. other supporting acts include Firecreek, Raptor, and Los Rusteros. Unfortunately for me, I was only available to catch this awesome festival on Saturday. I wish I could have caught the Friday night show I'm always on the scout for great rock acts. I did make it in time to see The "Nixon Rodeo", "Hysteria", and "Soul Stripper" what an amazing show it was all the campers were really enjoying the music and having a great time.
I purchased a new video camera and all my videos I took of Hysteria and Nixon Rodeo were ruined I will be taking that camera back so I am including video from my show at The Roadhouse for Hysteria.
Hysteria (Let it Go)
Soul Stripper AC/DC Tribute headlined the Saturday night show. This was the first time I had experienced "Soul Stripper's" live performance and they sure delivered the full Bon Scott "AC/DC" experience. Soul Stripper has a full solid 3 hours of material and they also include a Brian Johnson set but for Saturday nights performance it was Bon Scott only and what an incredible 2 hour set it was. Members include Howard Comfort - Angus Young (Lead Guitar), Howard can really shred on that guitar I really enjoyed his rendition of Angus Young it was fun watching him roll around on the floor like Angus. He had so much energy on stage it was almost making me tired. Other members Russ Huber - Malcolm Young (Rhythm Guitar), Andy Brodigan - Bon Scott (Vocals), Daren Stanley- Brian Johnson ( Vocals), Barry Lober - Cliff Williams (Bass Guitar), Kevin Sibley - Phil Rudd (Drums). Stay tuned to Rock$tarzz Hospitality's website and the Facebook page you may be seeing this band at a venue near you?

Hysteria Def Leppard Tribute co-headlined on Saturday night August 26th at 8 pm. This band is the real deal you get the full "Def Leppard" experience. With Hysteria's energetic stage performances, the look of "Def Leppard" and the sound is so close if not spot on to the real "Def Leppard" you might even forget you are listening to a tribute and you are at an actual "Def Leppard" concert? Isn't that why we love great tributes like these? So we can hear the bands we love and remember from days gone by? Band Members include Shawn Worra - Vocals (Joe Elliott), Doug Cisler - Guitar (Phil Collen), Dan Kehoe - Guitar (Steve Clark), Marco Lago - Bass (Rick Savage), Vance Nurkala - Drums (Rick Allen). The guys in the band work hard to perfect the "Def Leppard" experience and it is not an easy task it takes a lot of time and practice to bring all of us fans the closest to the real deal experience as possible. Hysteria has also played a couple shows for Rock$tarzz Hospitality Promotions last fall and then another show early spring 2017 catch them live the next time you get the chance and "Rock Till You Drop", you won't be disappointed.

I made it to the campgrounds in the nick of time to catch "The Nixon Rodeo's" set they had just started when I arrived. The Nixon Rodeo just headlined a show for Rock$tarzz Hospitality's Hot Summer Nights Concert Series a few weeks ago and Rock Cut was just their second summer appearance. I think they were the only all original act on the bill and the fans were eating it up. The Nixon Rodeo has some fun things planned for the end of summer and early fall so you might just want to go check them out to stay informed?

It was great seeing the families with their young children enjoying themselves watching live classic rock n roll music, fans so young you know they have been brought up on the best music of the 80's era and they were loving every minute of it. The campgrounds are beautiful and family friendly there is something for everyone at the Rock Cut Rocks Festival they are already planning for 2018 lineup so mark your calendars and plan to take your family camping vacation to Rock Cut next year then you can also say, "I Rocked Out at Rock Cut Rocks"!
