Blistered Earth Tribute to Metalica with guests, Children of the Sun with their high energy, hair flinging rock n roll, put on one heck of a show at The Palomino Club Saturday night April 8, 2017. The Palomino Club is a nice venue with a great light and sound system that enhances any band that plays there, the bands sound amazing.

Blistered Earth has always been a local Spokane favorite, they are the best Metalica Tribute you will ever see. Members include Cody Davis-Bass, Jesse Jensen-Lead guitar, Shawn Murphy-Drums and they are all Spokane locals and reside here in town except for Jared Kiess-Lead vocals residing in Montana. Here's a little tad bit of information you might find interesting as I did? Jared just graduated from law school last year and is now a practicing law in his spare time when not touring with the band. Although Blistered Earth is local to Spokane you will only see them play a concert here twice a year so when they have a concert announcement better jump at the chance to see these guys live. The next possible chance to catch them play locally won't be until late fall or winter.

Opening the show was, "Children of the Sun" they got their band name from the Indian name for our great city of Spokane. Spokane an Indian word meaning "Children of the Sun", how cool is that? The band formed just a little over a year ago, February of 2016 and they have really grown in popularity with the Spokane music scene they are well on their way as a local fan favorite. Children of the Sun, play their own original music with some great AC/DC covers thrown in and who doesn't love AC/DC? Check out the videos in this article and you will see why they are such a local favorite. Band members include Bret Allen Manuel-Vocals, Kenzy Shroerer-Bass, Brandon George-Guitar, Zak Kronich-Drums, and Nick Johnson-Lead guitar. It turns out I knew Nick Johnson all along since his mother was a good friend of mine years ago that I had lost contact with but re-connected with her at this very concert, another wow factor.

Both bands are full of energy and with all the hair flinging going on you can't help but get caught up in the moment good ole rock n roll 80's style, the crowd was really digging it. Even the gal I spoke with earlier in the evening that told me she thought the 80's produced a bunch of idiots was enjoying the show. I told her the 80's had some of the best Rock N Roll and helped shape music today, but she still seemed to disagree with me? I just looked at her and said, "for someone who supposedly didn't like the 80's era or the music that shaped a generation I have news for you, that is exactly what you are going to hear tonight". Until next time support your local music venues and musicians we want to keep the music alive. Take it easy and keep it real.**Peace**js
