Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, Sixx AM, As Lions

There were 2 rocking shows scheduled for the same night November 3, 2016, in Spokane, WA it made it hard for some to pick which one to go to? Five Finger Death Punch with Shinedown & Sixx Am at The Spokane Arena or The Steel Panther show at The Knitting Factory? For me, it was a no-brainer and I caught the 5FDP, Shinedown, Sixx Am show.
Sixx Am (Life is Beautiful) Deep meaning in those lyrics.

I had already caught Steel Panther's show last spring when they were in town and it was killer, it's funny how they make fun of the 80's glam rock era. You can get the skinny on my other concert reviews on this website. Myles Kennedy showed up at that concert and sang AC/DC with the band and put the show over the top. I knew that wouldn't happen this time as Myles is currently on his European tour with Alter Bridge until December 11th . I killed 2 birds with one stone so to speak and caught Steel Panther's meet n greet earlier in the day. I was a little bit disappointed as it seemed Michael Starr was rude to me and my friend, doesn't this cat know who I am lol? I felt We were rushed through but there really wasn't a big crowd, however, the other guys in the band were really cool and I spoke to them about possibly performing at an outdoor festival this summer 2017.
Five Finger Death Punch (Wrong Side Of Heaven) (Far From Home) I was hoping he would have sang Far From Home the way it is on the album, the lyrics to this song hit home.
This was my 3rd time seeing Shinedown, and they always deliver, Brent Smith is one of the best vocalists in rock n roll these days other than Myles Kennedy of course. The cool thing with Shinedown is you know you are going to hear the songs they sing live sound just like the album his voice is so powerful and always spot on.. Shinedown's stage show and pyrotechnics were booming and caught me off guard a few times where I jumped out of my seat lol. Brent Smith truly cares about his fans and was worried about the people in the front row getting smashed against the barricade wall, he requested that everyone follow the rock n roll etiquette and asked that everyone back up a few steps so everyone could enjoy the concert. He did not want to be responsible if anyone got hurt and could not continue in good concience, everyone obliged. He also jumped down into the crowd to talk with a fan he was not pleased with who had been shoving and pushing people during their performance, I wish I had been next to him to hear what was said? Brent came out into the crowd several times during the show which enhanced the whole experience of their set, such a cool guy. Shinedown is amazing live so when they come to a venue near you on this tour make sure to grab your tickets, you won't want to miss this show.
Video where Brent Smith asks the audience to follow the Rock N Roll ediquette.
Brent Smith jumps into the crowd before, State Of My Head, starts to talk to a rowdy fan concerned someone might get hurt during the show.
Shinedown (Second Chance)
This was the second time I have been to a Five Finger Death Punch concert and I have to say they were not on their game last night? I don't know if Ivan Moody's vocals are worn out from touring or what the problem was but when a performer talks through some of the songs instead of singing and has the audience sing most of the lyrics there is something going on? Audience participation is always key at a concert but it seemed more so last night. Ivan Moody has a unique tone to his voice and you automatically know it's a 5FDP tune the minute one of their songs is played on the radio. Moody made a reference to all the pyrotechnics from Shinedown's set and cracked a joke about trying to compete with their stage show? He pulled out his lighter and said, "I got this". He also mentioned he had his daughter on the tour with him and she had stolen all his candy stash, sounds like he really likes them there Skittles? It was also very cool when he pulled a couple of kids from the audience and let them come up on stage during one of their songs. Moody wants to retire in Washington state, this was the second time I have heard him mention how he really likes it here. I do really enjoy the lyrics to many of 5FDP songs they really speak to me and I really enjoy their remake of Bad Company, but I have to say Sixx Am is my new favorite
When Ivan Moody pulled some kids from the audience and let them come on stage.

.
I had not ever caught a Sixx AM show live and I was anxious to see them, they really blew me away Six Am absolutely killed it. Former Motley Crue Bassist Nikki Sixx formed Sixx Am in 2007 with DJ Ashba, and James Michael. The lyrics to their songs have real meaning, James Michaels vocals are killer their entire set rocked. I meant to pick up their new CD at the show but I was still buzzing from their performance I walked out without it, I am heading to the music store shortly, and yes I still buy my music the old fashioned way. I keep singing the songs over and over in my head especially, Say A Prayer For The Damned, great tune. I was truly impressed by this band performance, all the songs sounded amazing I could not take my eyes off the stage, it was literally music to my ears.

Sixx Am (This Is Gonna Hurt)
I would also like to mention, As Lions, a 5 piece hard rock band out of London England formed in 2015 opened the show, I only caught the last song of their set but wow these guys really can rock. I hope I get a chance to really check them out next time around? I was disappointed I didn't get to the show in time to catch their entire performance.

It was a busy night in music, there was something for everybody concert wise and I'm sure whatever show you picked to check out rocked hard. I know that the Spokane Arena was packed and everyone got what they paid for and went home with a smile on their face. Until next time stay real and take it easy, don't forget to support your local music venues and musicians and keep rocking.**Peace**js*
