Art Of Dying Acoustic Show With Special Guests: Letters From The Fire & Elephant Gun Riot/ Conce

Art Of Dying Came to Spokane and brought along with them Letters From The Fire and locals Elephant Gun Riot opened the acoustic set at The Reserve on September 22, 2016. I had asked Tavis Stanley months earlier if they needed to get a show set up here in Spokane but they had already had something lined up. The show was initially suppose to be held at The Pin Music Venue but there had been some problems with this venue and the show was cancelled. A month earlier a similar problem occured at that same venue when the, Wayland concert was also cancelled without much notice. Luckily our local radio station Rock 94.5 picked up the show and booked another venue to keep these awesome bands coming to town. Guys if you are touring next year contact me and I can get you hooked up.

Art Of Dying is a 4 piece rock band out of Vancouver BC, Canada. Members include: Jonny Hetherington (Vocals) Tavis Stanley (Guitar) Cale Gontier (Bass) Cody Watkins (Drums). They opened their accoustic set with, All or Nothing and continued with Die Trying, Cages, Tear Down The Wall, Raining, and Rise Up. When they got to the song, Get Through This, Jonny Hetherington mentioned before they started the the tune that he had written it for his dad that he had lost a year earlier, what a great song and dedication to a love one. They closed out the show with, Sorry, and Torn Down. I have to say, Art Of Dying these guys just sound great, the acoustic set really showed how well they harmonize together. After the show they all stuck around to talk to the fans, sign CD's, and pose for group pictures with anyone who wanted one. What a great group of guys, so down to earth and eager to meet their fans not to mention they put out some great rock n roll, I'd like to say they are all my friends. The Art Of Dying is one band you will want to make sure you catch when they tour to a city near you.

Also performing was Letters From The Fire from San Francisco. Members include: Members: Alexa Kabazie - Vocals / Mike Keller - Guitar / Cameron Stucky - Guitar / Clayton Wages - Bass / Brian Sumwalt - Drums. This was the first time I had heard this band and I was impressed. I hope they all come back this way again soon because I am so there.

What can I say about our local hometown band Elephant Gun Riot? This band is phenominal. They have opened for many big acts coming through our area and they are a favorite among Spokane locals. Members include: Caitlin Rose - Vocals, Zach Wirchak - Guitar, Sean Ciolli - Guitar, Patrick Rooks - Bass, Mike Lowe - Drums. If you are from Spokane and you haven't seen Elephant Gun Riot yet, where the heck have you been? Go catch a show there is always something going on.

The Reserve is a small but nice venue and perfect for an acoustic concert, friendly staff that made you feel at home. The bands all killed it, what a rocking show for sure. Until next time keep it real, but most importantly Rock N Roll. Keep the music alive, support live music and your local music venues. **Peace**js**
