The Maension, The Ambivalent, Homewreckr, Lust For Glory

Looking for something to do on a Thursday night in Spokane, WA? You don't have to look very far you can usually find a concert or some music event going on. Thursday June 23rd, was no different with 4 rocking bands playing at The Pin Music Venue in downtown Spokane. The lineup included, The Maension, The Ambivalent, Homewreckr, and Lust For Glory. I initially was working on this show back in February in the process of putting it together but something happened and the show ended up with different promoters.
With such an awesome lineup of performers you would expect this venue to be packed to capacity especially since a Thursday night is the start of the weekend in most places, but the venue probably had 50 concert goers and that is including the band members? I was talking to a few of the fans that were attending the show and I was informed that most people didn't even know about the show because it had not been advertised or promoted. The day of the show the venue finally put up a post on social media about the event but it was a little to late. If you want people to know about your concert it needs to be put out to the public more. This venue does have a show almost every night of the week so it may be difficult to showcase all of them, but if you want people to attend your shows and give the musicians the crowds they deserve you have to get the word out.

The Maension is a band from Hollywood, CA, but the members were born and raised in different countries (USA, UK, Italy, & Ukraine). Members include: Mark Maension-Guitarist, Vocalist,Skye Maension-Keytar, Kal Reid-Bassist, Mike (26) Monroe-Drummer. Their summer tour started on June 15th, at The Hollywood Rock Underground, in Pasadena, CA, Spokane was The Maension 6th stop on the tour. Their US tour ends October 1st after 61 shows along the way, then October 4th, they fly out and start their European tour until the end of the 2016 year. I was talking with Skye Maension after the show and I asked her if they get homesick or like living in the US better since they are from European countries? She said, "They liked living in the US and visiting Europe". I asked how touring both regions differ? Skye replied that, " touring Europe is just a different vibe than the US". They gave up their apartment and cars in the US and traded them in for an RV since they are out on tour so much, kind of like the rolling homeless, they have relatives and places to stay in Italy and Ukraine. I had a very nice chat with Skye, all of the band members were available after the show for pictures and mingle with fans. The Maension is getting ready to sign to a label but they are not sure if it will be one in the US or Europe which will be the decider for next years tour. Out of the 61 shows on their US tour you can bet they will be stopping in your city? You might want to check their schedule and head to the show when they get to your town, you will be glad you did. After their Spokane show they set off for the next stop, on to Seattle.

The Ambivalent is touring with the Maension for the first 10 shows on the tour. This is a three piece band out of Los Angeles, CA and they have been together since 2012. Members include Wyatt- Vocals, Guitar, Paul- Drums, Neil- Keys.

Homewreckr closed the show, this was their 3rd show in Spokane in the last 2 weeks. They were here at The Knitting Factory, June 10th as one of the openers for Defenders of The Faith, Judas Priest Tribute, then this past weekend for the Stateline Music Fest at Cruisers in Stateline, ID. This show was Homewreckr's 5th time playing in the Spokane area. Homewreckr is a 4 piece band from Clarkston,, WA with members: Kevin Black-Vocals, Alexander Black, Brett Gile, and David Delva.

Lust For Glory opened the show this is a 3 piece band from Spokane, WA. Members: Sean Genereaux~ Guitar&Voice, Kat Anderson~Bass, Scott Carr~Drums. lust For Glory played a benefit concert for me last year that was a huge success. I picked up their new CD, Those Times Are Now, check it out.
This show had all the essentials to be huge but no one really knew about it? There were 4 great rocking bands ready to blow your ear holes out, but there were only a handful of fans attending the show? The bands all played their hearts out and the show rocked. The show ended around 11:30 so plenty of time for all you nine to fivers to get plenty of z's for the work day. If you are not familiar with the bands the only way to get to know them is to check them out and come to a show, you never know one of them could turn out to be your new favorite? Until next time rock$tarzz, keep it real but most importantly Rock N Roll. **Peace**js.
