GA's To Broke To Rock #30 with RockStarzz Hospitality Promotions Featuring: Red Sun Rising, Art

GA's To Broke To Rock #30 with RED SUN RISING, Art Of Dying, Flying Mammals, North Fork.

Wednesday night November 18, 2015 the day after the worst wind storm Spokane has ever had was GA's To Broke To Rock #31 scheduled to go off at The Knitting Factory Spokane. Half the city of Spokane was without power but downtown was one area still lit up. The bands to perform the show weathered the storm and the headliner Red Sun Rising came from Boise, ID through the hurricane force winds just to play for all the rockers of Spokane, as they say the show must go on. I was disappointed to see only a handful of fans at what I think was one of the best concerts this year. I'm sure the weather had something to do with the turn out at the show but if you were without power this show would have been a great place to escape the cold and darkness, not to mention this was a free show where you could rock your butt off.

Opening the show was local band from Coeur D' Alene, ID North Fork. I had not had the pleasure of seeing these guys play live since the band was formed. Members include Myles Weaver formerly from the band Evolved | Vocals, Guitar, Brandon Kunka | Drums, Zack Jeffrey | Bass, Vocals, Robby Erickson | Guitar, Vocals. These guys rock, if you have not heard them yet make sure you see them the next time they are scheduled to play in your area you won't be disappointed.

Next up was another semi local band from Coeur d'Alene, The Flying Mammals I am sad to say was the first time seeing them play live. With a more jazz/rock style of music this 3 piece band rocked the house. Members include Aaron Birdsall - Lead Vox, Bass, Keys, guitars,James Birdsall - Guitars, Back Vox, bass,Andy Birdsall - Drums, Back Vox.

Co-headliners Art of Dying from Vancouver BC performed next, I tried to get them a show set up last summer and worked my tail off trying to make it happen but everything I tried fell through. I had a conversation with one of the DJ's from our local radio station Rock 94.5 and suggested they would be great to get for a To Broke To Rock show. RockStarzz Hospitality Promotions is extremely proud to have been a part of this amazing show, together we made it happen. Members include Jonny Hetherington - Lead Vocal, Tavis Stanley - Guitar & Backup Vocal, Cale Gontier - Bass & Backup Voca, Jeff Brown - Drums. These guys put on a ROCKING show I just can't say enough on how awesome this band is, fun to hang out with I was very impressed.

The headliners and first time to Spokane, Red Sun Rising from Akron, OH just toured with Godsmack and weathered the storm to perform this show for all of us. I was unable to catch them during the Godsmack tour but this show was more up close and personal with the guys. Mike Protich mentioned how crowded the arenas were touring with Godsmack and liked the fact that he could actually see the faces in the crowd and liked how a lot of the fans were wearing band T-shirts. How cool would it be to stop by the merchandise table and pick up a Red Sun Rising T so next time they are in town they could see their own rock n roll shirts displayed on the fans. I'm glad there will be a next time, this show was off the hook. They also did a shout out to Rock 94.5 for being the radio station that gave their new single, "The Other Side" with it's Nirvana sound the most air play. Members include: Mike Protich - Vocals, Guitar, Ryan Williams - Guitar, Tyler Valendza - Guitar, Ricky Miller - Bass, Vocals, Pat Gerasia - Drums. I was so blown away these guys were so awesome I just can't say enough to do them justice, they are great performers and sound exactly the same live as they do on the CD. The guys are all very easy on the eyes, and just all around cool. This band is for sure my new favorite.

After the show my little friend and I ventured to this little quaint out of the way bar, The Baby Bar to party with the Art of Dying. I made a little joke to the bar tender on how I was bringing a baby into the Baby Bar. If you don't know me and my friend, my friend looks much younger than she really is and I have been approached and reprimanded in the past about bringing a baby into a bar. Needless to say she was asked for ID lol. Tavis Stanley, guitarist for The Art of Dying his parents were in town to catch the show and we all hung out at this little bar after the show. Such a great time, one I won't soon forget. If you didn't weather the storm to go see this amazing free concert, I have to say you really missed out. Even though it was not a packed house we all partied like RockStarzz.
